A tandem of cops of a very special kind, since dead, and sent by their police unit, the RIPD (Rest in Peace Department), to protect our planet from an upsurge of harmful creatures who refuse to pass quietly in the other world. Sheriff Roy Pulsifer is a veteran of this brigade dedicated to hunting down belligerent souls posing as ordinary citizens. Its mission: to apprehend the criminals who try to escape the Last Judgment by hiding among the living. Irascible and unruly Roy is assigned as new teammate the late Nick Walker, a young Boston cop who recently died. The two "men" will have to swallow their respective antipathy to carry out their mission.
