In 1943 during the German occupation, the gypsy Django Reinhardt, a true "hero guitar", was at the pinnacle of his art. Every night he vibrates the whole of Paris at the Folies Bergères with his swing music while in Europe, his brothers are persecuted and massacred. When German propaganda wants to send him to Berlin for a series of concerts, he senses danger and decides to escape to Switzerland with his mother and pregnant wife, aided by one of his admirers, Louise de Klerk. During this dramatic period, he nonetheless remains an exceptional musician who resists with his music.
