Billy Elliot

Great Britain, 1984. The National Miners' Union goes on strike to prevent Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher from destroying the coal industry. While his father, his brother and the rest of the villagers fight for their rights, young Billy goes to his boxing lessons without motivation, hangs out in the gym a little longer and attends the ballet class of Mrs. Wilkinson. Without really understanding why, visibly slowed down by the weight of his own prejudices on dance, the boy saw his first big crush. After making him understand that he has an exceptional gift, Mrs. Wilkinson takes him under her wing and helps him prepare for his audition for the Royal Ballet School in London, against all odds.
