Jacksonville during World War II. Attached to the local military barracks is a parachute workshop where volcanic Carmen Jones works. Following a violent altercation between the young woman and one of her colleagues, Corporal Joe, a future student pilot, is instructed by his sergeant to take the road to Masonville to return Carmen to the civil authorities. But the Jeep gets stuck in a puddle. There, Joe succumbs to the charms of the seductress, who flees after a night of passion, not without confessing that she loved him
